Before you open your doors, you should carefully check to make sure there is no traffic coming toward your car.
Gather Your Belongings
Before the tow truck arrives, you should gather together any belongings that you will need to take with you. You cannot be sure how long you may need to keep your car in the shop, so it is important to take any belongings that you might need before you exit the vehicle.
Stay Safe
Sit in the car with the doors locked and the windows closed. If someone approaches your vehicle, you should only open the window a little to talk to them. When the tow truck company arrives, you should ask the driver for identification to be sure he or she is from the company.
